Conductor Semyon Bychkov Points Assertion Condemning Russian Assaults

As Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Czech Philharmonic, Semyon Bychkov launched an announcement on the ensemble’s web site, publicly saying his views on the unfolding Russia and Ukraine disaster. In it, he criticizes Russia’s navy invasion and expresses that it pains him “to see how Russia is unable or possibly unwilling to flee its darkish previous.”

Born in St. Petersburg in 1952, Bychkov acknowledges his heritage and explains that Russian tradition is in his blood. “Russians are able to limitless sacrifice and endurance, and actually know the that means of friendship, generosity and compassion, a number of the finest qualities current in human nature.
