Cyprus Symphony Names New Music Director

Throughout a press convention final week on the Pallas Theatre in Nicosia, Günter Neuhold laid out his imaginative and prescient for the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (CySO). This was adopted by speeches from members of the board of administrators, Musicians’ Guild, and the concertmaster of the CySO, Wolfgang Schroeder.

The CySO additionally introduced that it’s going to obtain further funding from the federal government for the enlargement of the orchestra from its present 45 members to 65.

Born in Graz, Austria, in 1947, Neuhold accomplished his research on the Graz Conservatoire. He then studied in Rome with Franco Ferrara and in Vienna with Prof. Hans Swarowsky. He has held positions such because the Music Director on the Teatro Regio di Parma, Chief Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica “Arturo Toscanini,” Chief Conductor and Musical Director of the Koninklijk Filharmonisch Orkest van Vlaanderen in Antwerp, Basic Music Director on the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Basic Music Director and Inventive Director on the Theater der Freien Hansestadt Bremen, and extra not too long ago, he was Chief Conductor and Music Director of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Bilbao.

Apart from his everlasting engagements, he has led the Vienna Philharmonic, the Nationwide Orchestra of France, the Radio Orchestra Tchaikovsky in Moscow, the Nationwide Orchestra of Belgium, the RAI Orchestra of Rome, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Tokyo — together with outstanding worldwide opera homes.
