Decca Data Indicators South Korean Composer Jung Jae-il

Upon signing, Jung’s first mission with Decca might be his choral-electronic album psalms, which can see its worldwide launch on July 22 in partnership with Common Music Korea.

Utilizing Psalm verses from the Bible as textual content, the brand new album consists of choral a cappella, string ensemble, and electronics. That includes the Budapest Scoring Orchestra and Choir, the music commemorates the fortieth anniversary of the Could 18th Democratic Rebellion of Gwangju, South Korea.

Along with his soundtracks for movies Parasite and Okja, Jung has collaborated with Okay-pop artists equivalent to Hyo Shin Park. A graduate of the Seoul Jazz Academy, he received the Hollywood Music in Media Award for this soundtrack for Squid SportNetflix’s most-watched sequence ever.

Paying homage to classical composers, Jung makes use of musical quotations from Handel, Beethoven, and Johann Strauss within the Squid Sport and Parasite scores.

He has already achieved nice recognition for his soundtrack work that we now purpose to amplify on a worldwide scale.”

“I grew up listening to numerous albums from Decca so am really amazed that my music is now being launched on Decca and I’m getting to hitch an archive full of historic recordings from the legends,” Jung stated. “For my album ‘psalms,’ I discovered so many prayers from the Bible that relate to our present lives, so I sincerely hope that this work can resonate via the tough instances.”
