Finalists Introduced on the thirty seventh Klein Worldwide String Competitors


 

Three candidates have progressed to the ultimate spherical of the 2022 Klein Worldwide String Competitors, which is going down this weekend. Picked from the 7 semi-finalists, the finalists will carry out on Sunday, June 5.

The finalists are:

  • Andromeda Kepecs, violin, 18 (CA).
    Attends the Menlo Faculty and research with David Chernyavsky
  • Gaeun Kim, cello, 20 (KOREA).
    Attends the Juilliard Faculty; pupil of Richard Aaron, Gautier Capucon
  • Jaewon Wee, violin, 22 (KOREA).
    Attends New England Conservatory; pupil of Donald Weilerstein

The competitors, which has been working for 37 years, is a outstanding nurturing floor for younger string gamers aged between 15 and 23. The competitors presents a complete of $30,000 value of prize cash, and in 2022, the gamers shall be mentored by previous winner and VC Artist Tessa Lark.

In 2022, the jury shall be comprised of Richard AaronChristopher CostanzaFrancesca de PasqualeDaniel StewartIan Swensen, and Barbara Day Turner. This 12 months’s commissioned work shall be written by composer Gloria Justen.

Earlier winners of the Klein competitors embody Jennifer Koh (1993), Vadim Gluzman (1993), Alban Gerhardt (1989), Tessa Lark (2008), and Nikki Chooi (2009).
