The German tenor Jonas Kaufmann has been named the inaugural recipient of the Corelli 100 award, which acknowledges singers who’ve notably distinguished themselves on this planet of opera and goals to delay the legacy of Franco Corelli.
Kaufmann acquired the award on April 24 on the Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona, the city the place Franco Corelli was born in 1921. The prize is given by the municipality of Ancona itself, on the advice of the Teatro della Muse Basis.
