Kentucky’s Louisville Orchestra Launches Inaugural Composers Program

Established by the Louisville Orchestra (LO) and its music director Teddy Abrams, the Louisville Orchestra Creators Corps residency program goals to vary conventional commissioning buildings with new fashions for collaborating with fashionable symphony orchestras. Its inaugural members are Lisa Bielawa, TJ Cole, and Tyler Taylor.

Starting his eighth season with LO this September, Abrams acquired 186 purposes for the primary version of Creators Corps.

American composer TJ Cole has been commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Corridor, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Time For Three, amongst many others. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Interlochen Arts Academy, their mentors embody John Boyle Jr., Jennifer Higdon, David Ludwig, and Richard Danielpour. 

A Louisville native, Tyler Taylor is a graduate of the Indiana College Jacobs Faculty of Music, Eastman Faculty of Music, and the College of Louisville. He has lately been commissioned by the Washington and Lee College Orchestra, Chicago Composers Orchestra, Albany Symphony Modern Ensemble, and Louisville Orchestra, amongst others.

As a part of the Creators Corps, the three artists will function LO employees members for at the least 30 weeks and obtain an annual wage of $40,000, medical health insurance, housing, and a studio workspace.
