Los Angeles Philharmonic Broadcasts Dudamel Fellows for 2022/23

The Los Angeles Philharmonic introduced the 4 conductors chosen because the 2023/23 Dudamel Fellows: Luis Toro Araya (Chile), Rodolfo Barráez (Venezuela), Chloé Dufresne (France), and Linhan Cui (China).

Developed by the LA Phil’s Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, the Fellowship Program has been working since 2009. It gives alternatives for the chosen conductors to work alongside Dudamel and the orchestra, in addition to with visiting artists and conductors, to hone their conducting expertise by each commentary and utility.

Araya and Dufresne will every lead two of the orchestra’s Symphonies for Colleges live shows in March, whereas Barráez will conduct the Pasadena Youth Concert events and Cui will lead performances of Symphonies for Youth: Sisterhood.

“Annually, I cherish the expertise of working with our extraordinary Fellows,” wrote Gustavo Dudamel on social media.

“Bringing these rising skills from all totally different backgrounds to my Los Angeles Philharmonic and having the possibility to work with them onstage and locally is a continuing supply of inspiration and pleasure. It’s the sort of work that helps us all develop collectively as artists and as people.”
