OUT NOW | Karolina Errera Releases “Songs of Rain”


 

Leipzig-based GENUIN introduced the discharge of violist Karolina Errera‘s debut album, “Songs of Rain,” alongside pianist Lilit Grigoryan.

The album options a variety of unique works and preparations, together with Tchaikovsky’s Romances Op. 6, Rachmaninov’s Songs Op. 4, Dowland’s First Booke of Songes,  Britten’s Lachrymae for viola & piano, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Op. 64, Brahms’ Lieder und Gesänge Op. 59 and Violin Sonata No. 1 in G main, Op. 78.

“The sound of raindrops, maybe the nice and cozy ones in the summertime, might be so satisfying, soothing, atmospheric, give house for reflection,” Errera informed The Violin Channel. “For my first album, I needed to search out music that would resonate with that ambiance, be emotional, poetic and introverted in one of the simplest ways. Johannes Brahms’ Sonata op.78 — which relies on his “Regenlied” or the “Rain Music” op. 59 — was the preliminary inspiration for the repertoire to be constructed on the theme of Rain and Music.”

From there, the duo explored the chances of vocal music via a viola and piano duo.

“The widespread high quality for the works on this CD is that it tells a narrative that I consider every human can join with,” she added. “I hope that the listeners will really feel that they will come again to this recording anytime they want to really feel comforted or look for a selected ambiance.”

Regarded by Tabea Zimmerman to have “a uncommon present of mixing her great musical skills with an outstandingly good style and a humble and modest persona that’s not so widespread these days,” violist Karolina Errera is a prizewinner of a number of main worldwide competitions, together with the Yuri Bashmet Competitors and Markneukirchen Worldwide Instrumental Competitors. She has performed in venues such because the Wigmore Corridor in London, the Victoria Corridor in Geneva, and the Berlin Philharmonie. A graduate of the Berlin College of the Arts, adopted by research at Hanns Eisler College of Music in Berlin, Errera  at the moment research on the Kronberg Academy.
