This yr’s Whakatipu Music Competition will showcase extraordinary music from New Zealand’s main musicians, rising artists, and native expertise, together with soprano Madeleine Pierard, violinist Robin Wilson, flutist Bridget Douglas, pianist Stephen de Pledge and the Tararua Quartet.
“Born from a spot of change, the pageant is a COVID-19 adaptation,” Govt Director Anne Rodda this week instructed The Violin Channel.
“It’s a response from the Michael Hill Worldwide Violin Competitors to the brand new setting during which we now work. As an alternative of presenting a sequence of live shows to a passive viewers, this pageant is authentically by, with, and for the neighborhood. It’s, at its coronary heart, a celebration of music,” she stated.
